Our next Sunday Sessions gig on the 11th of September features legendary guitarist Ian Date, who is touring Australia from his home in Dublin. A part of the Sydney jazz scene since the 1970s, Ian has called Ireland home for the past 20 years and has played with artists including George Golla, Tom Baker, Tommy Emmanuel and Ian Cooper. Ian's guitar style is heavily influenced by Gypsy jazz and bebop genres. He achieved success in the 1980s in the band Sweet Atmosphere co-led with George Washingmachine, playing repertoire of the 1930s and 1940s.
