The Venue, 44 Station St, Bowral

On the 11TH of December 2022 Southern Highlands Jazz is working with young people from the Vocal Muster in a workshop, followed by a showcase at The Venue, 40 Station St, Bowral.

The SH! Jazz Quartet will mentor and work with emerging artists from the Vocal Muster giving these young artists a unique opportunity to learn and perform with incredible musicians. An opportunity like this does not come around often, and Richard Lane, Founder of the Vocal Muster, is grateful to the generosity of Bill O’Gorman, the committee, musicians and members of SH Jazz to make this event happen. The Vocal Muster's mission is to assist young people through the joy of singing to help build self-confidence and self-esteem.

During the workshop the young performers will be mentored by SH Jazz musicians on how to shape and sing jazz pieces. After the workshop, the SH Jazz Quartet and young performers will showcase what they have been working on in front of an appreciative audience of jazz lovers.

“The young people of the Vocal Muster participating are very excited to be involved and are looking forward to learning new singing and musical skills,” said Richard.

On conclusion of the showcase with Vocal Muster, the SH Jazz Open Mic will commence for pre-registered singers. If you are keen to sing at the open mic event, please register your contact details and jazz song choice at https://forms.gle/CreHtXFbXDayRYvr7.
