Sunday Sessions Jazz has a very special treat: Tilly + Billy! combining two very special performers: rising star, vocalist Tilly Street with the legendary trumpeter Billy Burton.

Tilly and Billy will be performing with our Sunday Sessions Quartet: Ren Marcon, Peter Locke, David Seidel and Josh Morgan.

Billy Burton is highly regarded in the local and international scene. As resident band leader at Sydney’s iconic Chequers Nightclub and the Chevron Silverspade Room, Billy and his orchestra performed with internationally acclaimed artists, including Stevie Wonder, Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey, Dusty Springfield, Jose Feliciano, Bobby Darin ... and countless others who toured Australia in the 60s and 70s. Now in his 90s, Billy is still both confounding and brilliant, and performs regularly in Sydney.

Tilly Street is a jazz singer based in Sydney. Growing up in the Southern Highlands she developed a love of the Great American Songbook from doing local and school theatre productions such as Oklahoma, the Wizard Of Oz and Guys & Dolls to name a few. With relaxed charm & a touch of playfulness, Tilly’s irresistible tone & phrasing make her one of Sydney’s favourite jazz vocalists with musicians & audiences. A natural storyteller, Tilly will sweep you off your feet.

The Bowlo's kitchen will be serving lunch from 12 noon, and you are very welcome to come early and eat in the main room before the show. Our doors will open at 1:00pm and the band will start at 2:00pm, playing through until 5:00pm. Lunch orders will continue until 2:30pm, with a snack menu and drinks (including tea and coffee) available through the remainder of the afternoon.
