Some of SH! Jazz's favourite performers are getting together for a show up in Sydney in January* - and we didn't want you to miss out on the opportunity to go and see the gig!
After knowing each other for over 25 years, Australia music legends trumpeter Warwick Alder and vocalist Gregg Arthur at last share the stage performing the Chet Baker songbook, featuring Peter Locke on piano, Craig Scott on bass, and Andrew Dickeson on drums.
Chet Baker was famous for major innovations in cool jazz that led him to be nicknamed the "Prince of Cool". The repertoire he chose shines through as the coolest songs in jazz, and there are none better than Warwick Alder and Gregg Arthur to present these tunes in their own innovative way with this tour de force of trumpet and vocal artistry.
“A quintessential jazz club experience” - Eric Myers, The Australian
“Some people got it, and some people don’t. Gregg Arthur is one of the ones who does, it’s the devilish art of being a jazz singer” - John Shand, Sydney Morning Herald
“Note Warwick Alder's beautiful time, which allows him to sail across as well as run with the superb rhythm section on the fast pieces. Note Alder's beautiful ballads and their sublime execution” - Barry Friedman, Birdland
