Sunday Sessions Jazz at The Hastings - Bowral Golf Club on Sunday 13 September features The Todd Hardy Allstars!
Australian trumpeter Todd Hardy has been a distinctive presence on the jazz scene for more than three decades and is bringing his quintet to Bowral in September with Todd on trumpet and vocals joined by Brad Child (saxophone), Freddie Stafford (piano), Karl Dunnicliff (double bass) and Nic Cecire (drums).
Based in Sydney, Todd has reconnected with the city’s vibrant Jazz scene after several years on the Gold Coast. Since returning, he has performed with David Campbell, appeared at the Sydney Opera House with Marcia Hines and Casey Donovan, featured at the 2025 Manly Jazz Festival, performed at the Mumbai Jazz Festival with Nicki Parrott and recorded for Baz Luhrmann's 2026 release "EPiC: Elvis Presley In Concert".
A dynamic and expressive musician, Todd draws inspiration from Louis Armstrong, Lee Morgan and Chet Baker, blending the warmth of classic swing with the energy and sophistication of 1960s post-bop. His sound reflects both a deep respect for tradition and a fresh, modern sensibility. Throughout his career, Todd has performed widely across Australia, leading his own ensembles and collaborating with many of the country’s leading Jazz artists. He has also appeared on national television and recorded with Grace Knight, Judy Bailey, Nicky Parrott, Dan Barnett and Jimmy Barnes.
His latest album, Something Old, Something New, returns to his musical heartland: swinging, melodic and blues-infused jazz, firmly rooted in tradition.
