July's concert features our marvellous Sunday Sessions Quartet, who have been with us from the start of our SH! Jazz programs in the Highlands.
Our quartet’s legendary pianist Peter Locke has put together a top program looking back on the history of the piano in jazz music, and the influential bands and musicians over time.
The day will feature music by Bix Beiderbecke, Fats Waller and Duke Ellington – also boogie woogie – and moving ahead through piano history to such artists as George Shearing and Bill Evans.
Kicking off the concert with ‘Riverboat Shuffle’ by Hoagy Carmichael (first recorded in 1924) the quartet will play songs from the great songwriters and performers in jazz history.
This is a special day celebrating our marvellous quartet and will be a day of great music.
The $30 ticket price ($20 for student/child) is for event entry only, with reserved table seating. If you have any special song requests or seating preferences, please let us know when you book!
